This week for my blog I will be telling you about the soon to be newest team in the NHL, the Seattle Kraken.

The Seattle Kraken will be a brand new NHL team in 2021, they’re first playing year will be 2021-2022. The way it will work is the same as the Vegas Golden Knights expansion draft. Each team will have to protect some players that they don’t want to give up, and let the new team pick a player of the unprotected. That is how their team will be formed.

You may think that since all the good players wont be able to be taken, the team would suck. This was proven wrong in 2018, the Vegas Golden Knights went to the Stanley Cup finals and almost won the cup.

I have a feeling that I will really like this team. Some things  I like about this team already is their team colours and their logo. It is a kraken arm shaped into a S with a red eye that looks really cool. Their colours are a light teal and a dark teal   And a little bit of red. I think that it looks really cool and I would love one of them.

This week for my blog I will be talking about my favourite hockey team, the Washington Capitals.

The Washington Capitals are a NHL team that is located in Washington of course. They came into the league back in 1974 and have played every season since.

I like them so much because, I don’t really know why. One day when I was 6 or 7 I just decided that they were going to be my favourite team. Another reason is that my favourite player plays for them, Alex Ovechkin. He is their captain.

Some records and awards that they have gotten during their years as a team were the most losses in a season which was 8-67-5. It still remains the worst in NHL history. But to show that they have gotten better through the years, in 2018 they won the Stanley Cup for the first time ever.

I think that when Alex Ovechkin retires, they will go back to bad seasons like they used to have. I hope not and they will have a lot of extra money to spend on more good players. It  was  a  normal  day  in  the  early  fall  of  2020,  if  you  could  call  it  a  normal  day.  In  the  midst  of  COVID – 19  and  protests,  NASA  had found  life  on  the  planet  Venus.  Everybody  was  very  shocked, even scared, even  though  what  NASA  had  found  hadn’t  appeared  to  be dangerous.

As  fast  as  possible,  NASA  had  come  out  with  another  brand  new version  of  an  already  completed  Mars  rover.  It  was  modified  to  be  able  to  withstand  the  harsh  climates  of  the  planet.  So  on December, 20,  the  rover  was  set  to  be  sent   out  into  space  to explore  the  surface  of  the  planet  more  completely.

It  was  on  all  the  news  headlines  and  nothing  else  was  being  talked  about,  not  even  the  COVID – 19  cases  rising  at  an  alarming  rate.

So,  just  as  planned,  NASA  sent  the  rover  out  on  December, 20. Everybody  was  waiting  for  the  launch  to  happen  to  see  if  it  was  a  success,  and  indeed  it  was!  Everybody  was  cheering  and  clapping  and  cheering  in  elation  that  they  were  going  to  be  able  to  see what’s   on  Venus  for  themselves.

In  no  later  than  a  week the  rover  had  successfully  landed  on  the  surface  of  the  planet  and  started  the  exploration.  Since  there  were  heavy – duty  cameras  covering  all  corners  and  angles,  you could   watch  a  livestream  that  showed all  the  angles  of  what  the  rover could  see.

But,  on  the  third  day  of  exploration,  when  the  rover  was  about  to  finish  it’s  first  loop,  there  was  a  fast  and  very  strange  flash. Instantly,  the  cameras  went  black  and  there  was  nothing  to  see.

The  world  was  very  confused  and  alarmed  by  this  sight.

If you  were  to  slow  down  the  moment  the  cameras  went  black  and  the  big  flash,  you  would  see a  weird  and  slimy  creature  with several human  features.  Some  of  these  included  hands,  feet and a head.

With no hesitation, the armies were preparing for if or when a alien attack happened. In no later than a week the unexpected did happen, a alien abduction happened…

The first case was at a school in Orlando. Two kids in a 7/8 classroom during a recess had been abducted. The witnesses said that they had seen a UFO that had a beam coming out that picked up the kids. This enraged people and inspired them to find and stop the aliens. The second was a kid in grade 5 in Paris.

That very day, the aliens had hacked all the TVs, radios and phones, this was their message:

“Hello humans of the planet Earth. We have been watching you for some time now. We have learnt your ways and practiced them to use them against you. If you want your children back, here are the instructions.”

Everyone was terrified by this sight and took no hesitation in following the instructions until they found out what would happen if you lost. The first and only step was to go to any McDonald’s parking lot in the world, and then at 12:00 am, they would be lifted onto the aliens spaceship and they would have a game of dodgeball to the death. Only a few brave players showed up, seventy to be exact.

At precisely 12:00 as planned, they were abducted and transformed into alien dodgeball gear. The rules were straight forward and nearly identical to the normal human dodgeball version. The only difference was once you’re out, your out for good.

There would have been more contestants, but the aliens and the humans got distracted by the amazing deals on the Big Mac, that they missed the game!

Very quickly the game started. In the first opening minutes the humans were up 50-30 players. About seven minutes later the aliens had tied it up and made it 1-1, it was very intense. The last man threw an amazing throw and hit the very last alien square in the chest and got him out.

The man and the three kids got returned back to their homes. The man was treated as a hero when he was returned, as well as the men and women that had died up on the ship. In the end, the kids were saved and the aliens were defeated and the world was safe and sound once again.

This week for my blog I will be researching on a company named Nike. You’ve probably heard of it but I will be telling you some things you may not of known about it, and reasons why they are  one of my favorite companies.

Nike headquarters is in Oregon, USA. They make a wide variety of things from clothes and shoes, to hockey equipment and water bottles. They have many stores across North America and are a very popular store. Various stores that their items may be found in are Sport Chek, Pro Hockey Life and the Nike store of course.

I really like their shoes and clothes because I find them very high quality and very comfortable. I really like their shoes especially because I almost always like the feel of them and are my favorite athletic shoe. I think maybe all except 2-3 years of my school years, I got shoes other than Nike. This shows just how much I like them. In total, I have 7 or 8 pairs of their shoes.

Some of their main competitors are Under Armour and Adidas. These are companies that also make very good sport clothes and shoes. The reason that I prefer Nike over these companies are they are a better price by a little bit and their stores are more popular and easier to find.

Hello everyone, this week for my blog I will be talking about my favorite hockey goalie, Carey  Price.

Carey Price is a  Canadian ice hockey goaltender for the Montreal Canadians. He was drafted back in 2005 by the Montreal Canadians and has been playing for them ever since. He was the goalie for Team Canada at the Olympics.

Some various awards that he has won in his career are the Vezina, a Olympic gold medal, a Ted Lindsay, a Hart trophy, a William M. Jennings trophy and many more. His team when he was playing for the hasn’t won a Stanley Cup yet. He has been a NHL all-star and made 8 NHL all star game appearances in the last 15 years.

I like him so much because he is a really good goalie and has been very kind to fans throughout his career. He plays for my second favorite team in the NHL so that also bumps him up my list. I really lie how he donates to charities and visit kids in hospitals to make their day.

One of my favorite moments from him is when at a awards show, they called on stage a kid whose mother had passed away. He gave a speech about his mother, they pretended that Carey wasn’t there but he was. He then came out and surprised the kid with a signed stick and a signed jersey. I thought this was a very nice moment from him and was very kind.

Hello, this week for my blog, I will be doing it on a Canadian YouTuber that makes real life objects/weapons from movies, here’s some more facts about him and his projects.

James Hobson ( The Hacksmith ), was born on February, 10 1990, in Kitchener, Ontario. For a living, he has a warehouse and makes devices from movies such as multiple Thor hammers, multiple Captain America shields, Iron Man’s laser hand and much, much more.

Some of his more popular builds are his robotic arms that managed to lift an astonishing amount of weight that was a total of 3500 pounds! This was the main reason for many interviews about his channel and his work. This to me is insane, I cant believe that he could actually make something that could support that amount of weight. Another, was his real life lightsaber! This to me is even more cool than the arms.

This week on my blog I will be talking about my thoughts on masks and all of this covid craziness.

First I’m going to be talking about masks. I personally hate masks and I’m pretty sure anybody else that you ask will have the same response. My favorite type of mask that my family has is either our spandex material one or these ones from Walmart that are adjustable to be able to fit a bunch of different sizes. I think that it is good for people to be wearing them to keep safe and protected from getting or giving the virus.

The second thing is the Coronavirus. The one thing that I hate more than masks, is the thing that caused us to wear these darn things. I am very sure that you know what it is unless you’ve been living under a rock. I really dislike this virus because we have to wear masks, keeps family and friends from getting together in large groups. But my very least favorite thing about Covid-19 is that people are actually dying from this.

We now have globally over 1 million deaths, and 36.5 million cases since the start back in late December. The top three worst countries right now for cases are USA in 1st, India in 2nd and Brazil in 3rd. Here in Canada we have 178k cases and 9583 deaths.

Hello, this week on my blog I will be talking about my thoughts and feelings on the 2020 Stanley cup finals.

If you haven’t already heard about the winner of the Stanley cup it was the Tampa Bay Lightning. This was their second franchise Stanley cup and their first was back in 2004. In the final round of the playoffs they defeated the Dallas Stars.

To make it to the finals Tampa Bay Lightning beat Columbus Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders. Dallas had to go through Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche and Las Vegas Golden Knights.

A few awards that were given to the Tampa Bay Lightning were the Stanley cup of course, the Conn Smythe, which was awarded to the MVP of the playoffs (Victor Hedman) and the Prince of Wales (eastern conference champions). I think that victor Hedman deserved the Conn Smythe because he was a very solid defenseman for the Tampa Bay Lightning throughout the entire playoffs.

Lastly I was happy to see them win the Stanley Cup because they were top of the league for a few years now, so I think they really deserved this title. Also last year they got kicked out and swept 4-0 in the playoffs first round by the wildcard team so that was embarrassing for them considering they were the best team that year. This week for my blog I will be talking about why hockey is my favorite sport. If you don’t already know what hockey is it is a sport played on a sheet of ice, using skates and other pieces of equipment to protect you from pucks.

I love hockey because I find it very fun, it is a good workout and a physical sport. It is a good way to get together with friends and have a fun time. My hockey team is the Arborg Falcons and I am currently in my second level of peewee. Another reason why I really like hockey is the NHL (National Hockey League), this is the highest possible level of hockey so it is the most fun to watch. I like all kinds of hockey such as ice hockey, floor hockey and road hockey. My favorite position in hockey is defense which is what I play.

My favorite hockey player plays in the NHL, and is Alex Ovechkin. He is another reason why I love and wanted to play hockey when I was a little kid. Alex Ovechkin also plays for the Washington Capitals which is my favorite hockey team. Alex Ovechkin is a Russian hockey player that plays for the Washington Capitals. He was born in Moscow, Russia. He is 35 years old and his birthday is September 17th, 1985. He is 6’3″ and 233 pounds. His estimated net worth is about $30 million dollars US. He is the captain of the Washington Capitals  and has been for ten years now. He has won many awards but some of his more important awards are The Stanley Cup, Rocket Richard’s (most goals in a season) and the Calder trophy (best rookie).

He is my favorite hockey player in the entire league because I find him very humble and a very good hockey player. He also is on my favorite hockey team the Washington Capitals which is also another reason why I really like him. I really like how he gives to charity and spends time with children who are in hospitals.

Another few facts about him is that he was drafted in 2004 first overall. He is well known for his one timer slapshot in “his office” which is on the top of the red circle. He has a over 100 mile shot which is crazy in my opinion. My favorite play of his is when the Washington Capitals were playing Phoenix Coyotes in 2006, and he fell down then swung his stick around and somehow got a goal. Here is a link to the video!
